Bridal FAQ

Here I will try to answer all questions you may have about your bridal styling! If you still have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

How can I reserve my wedding date?

If you would like to book me, just send me an email and I will send you the reservation form. You can comfortably fill it out online and with this, your date is reserved! Before you have filled out the form, I can pencil in your date, but I cannot reserve it. The reservations happen on a first come first serve basis.

What happens after I have reserved my wedding date?

We should find a date for the trial, which I prefer to do 1-2 months before your wedding.

How does the payment work?

You will pay half of your package at your trial. You can pay cash or by card. For all of the remaining costs, I will send you an invoice after your wedding.

How long does the styling/trial take?

I like to make a lot of time for my brides. If you are looking for a very quick styling, I am not the right stylist for you. I am very detail oriented and I put a lot of emphasis on proper preparation for skin and hair, to make the styling last as long as possible. For the trial you should plan anywhere from 3-5 hours and for the actual bridal styling a general guideline is about 3 hours. We can discuss the timeline at detail at your trial.

Where does the trial take place?

It would be best if you can come to my home studio in Podlahagasse 31A, 1220 Vienna for the trial. Here I have everything we could need. However, if you are very busy, I can also come to your locations, this would add a journey fee to the amount you pay at the trial.

Can you style me for my wedding without a trial?

No, I do not do bridal stylings without a trial. If this is what you want, I would be glad to send you recommendations for my colleagues.

Can I bring someone to my trial?

Of course! I would recommend not bringing more than 2 extra people though.

What is the best way to prepare for my trial?

Right before our trial, I will send you another form to fill out. Here I will learn about details about you, your wishes and your wedding, so I can prepare everything perfectly.

Your hair should be freshly washed. This means wash your hair on the day in the morning or, if your hair does not get greasy quickly, the evening before should suffice. That hairstyles last better in “dirty” hair is a myth! Oil makes hair heavy and makes it very difficult to create soft styles. Please wash your roots twice with a deep cleansing shampoo (for example Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo) and refrain from using any products in your hair. Now blow dry your hair until it is completely dry. If you have natural curls, please let me know in advanced, so we can decide what is the best way to prepare them.

Please come to your trial with a clean and well hydrated face. Your wedding day is the only day in your life, where I will ask you not to wear sunscreen. A lot of sunscreens can cause “flashback”. This means that you could possibly look like you have a white cast, if you are being photographed with flash.

Please bring all accessories you will be wearing on your wedding day. I do have a few hair accessories, if you would like to try something, however I do not have a very big collection.

How do I choose good inspiration photos?

The inspiration pictures don’t need to be exactly what you are looking for, it is more for me to unterstand the “vibes” we are going for, so it’s always best to have multiple! It would be best if you find pictures that are close to your own skin and hair color. Try to identify what it is exactly that you like about these stylings.

Can you also style my mom/bridesmaid/mob/etc.?

Of course, if there is enough time, I would love to! Generally I plan around 45 minutes for makeup or an extra hairstyle, so around 1.5 hours for both, hair and makeup.

If there are many extra stylings, I can also ask a colleague to join to help me. However I would need to know this well in advance!

Can you style the flower girls?

Of course! The price is dependent on the extent of the hairstyle and we can discuss in advance at the trial.

I don’t want lashes or extensions, is it cheaper?

No, the package prices are fixed prices.

Beauty Wedding Prep Timeline:

  • Cosmetic Treatments:

If you want to have amazing skin on your wedding day, it might be helpful to start seeing a cosmetologist around 3 months before your wedding. A lot of times all you need is a simple facial with some cleansing of the pores. The last treatment should be at least 3 days before your wedding, in case there is irritation.

  • Waxing

If your skin is damaged from waxing, it is almost impossible to apply makeup to it. So also waxings in the face should be planned AT LEAST 5 days before your wedding. Waxing on your body is less risky, but I would still plan 2-3 days before your wedding.

  • Hair Removal

All other hair removal methods (except shaving) should also be done at least 3 days before the wedding.

  • Tanning

I usually recommend that brides should look like themselves on their wedding day. If you get too tanned, the contrast between the dress and your skin tone might be too harsh, so keep that in mind when tanning! If you are using self tanner, maybe consider getting a professional spray tan.

  • Nails

Remember that there probably will be close ups of your hands! If you are getting a professional manicure, it would be best to get this done 1-2 days before your wedding.

How can I make sure my makeup stays nice for a long time?

Of course you will get a bulletproof makeup, however you will need to help a little bit with regular touch ups for it to stay perfect long into the night.

If you start getting shiny, the first thing you should use is a blotting paper. A package of these papers will be in your touch up kit. Just take one of the papers and press it onto the oily area to absorb the oil.

The touch up kit also contains a powder puff with translucent powder, you can use this after the oil blotting paper, to powder the area.

I will give you some of your lip product, so you can reapply throughout the day/night. This is especially important after eating, because oil is the final boss of makeup. Your kit also contains a straw. You can use this at anytime, but especially before the wedding, to keep your lips fresh!

Your motto for the day is “blot, don’t wipe!”. If you are crying or sweating, just use the tissue to lightly blot anything off and don’t wipe around your face. And I know it’s difficult, but try not to touch your face a lot.

How will my hairstyle stay perfect for a long time?

The two things that will destroy your hair, are the weather and hands. So unfortunately we can’t do much about the weather, but do try not to touch your hair.  When people hug you, try to avoid them pressing on your hair all the time. If you are driving to the wedding, try not to lean on your hairstyle.

What should I do with the extensions, if we are using them?

You will get an envelope from me with my address on it. Just put the extensions in it and send it back “per Einschreiben” at most 2 workdays after your wedding.

How should I take off my makeup?

Your makeup is waterproof, so it will last for a long time! That means it is a little more difficult to get off. That’s why I have included a cleansing balm in your touch up kit. Just massage it onto your dry face and clean it off with water or a damp cloth. After this you can just use your regular cleaning gel.

Can you fix my veil?

Of course I can! If possible, please buy a veil that has a plastic comb or no comb at all. Depending on the hairstyle it is possible that I might have to break off some of the teeth of the comb.  A metal comb doesn’t allow this and it makes the process of sticking it into the hairstyle very difficult. Please also bring your veil to the trial.

Can you put flowers in my hair?

Of course! Please ask your florist to prep the flowers with wire and tape. If they don’t know what you mean, I will send you a picture to pass onto them. Make sure you choose flowers that won’t immediately die without water and flowers that are not too large.

Do you work outside of Vienna?

Yes, of course! The journey cost is €0,70/km, there and back, from Podlahagasse 31A, 1220 Vienna.

If the journey is longer than 3 hours, and/or the styling is very early and I have to leave before 5am, I would need a possibility of arriving a night before. If the journey in total is longer than 8 hours, I need to charge an extra 50% of my hourly rate.

What is the timeline of the styling on the wedding day?

I need around 15 minutes for set up. Then I can start with the stylings. If the are many extra people, I recommend the bride to be second to last. Ideally we will have around 30 minutes of puffer time in which you can get dressed and take getting ready photos. Then I will need around 10 minutes to pack up again. All stylings should take place in the same room.

What happens if you’re sick on my wedding day?

For me not to come to your wedding to style you, I would need to be in hospital. In the unlikely event this should happen, I will do my best to find a replacement for me. I would give the colleague all products we have used and cover any price difference.
