So today: how to apply concealer correctly, with a focus on under-eye circles.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"371\" data-end=\"374\">\n<h3 data-start=\"376\" data-end=\"406\">Prep: Applying Concealer<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"408\" data-end=\"554\">As always, makeup starts with proper skincare. To apply concealer smoothly and get a nice texture, the under-eye area needs to be well hydrated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"781\">Apply your moisturizer and wait 10\u201315 minutes. Otherwise, the concealer may settle into fine lines. If you plan to do eye makeup, avoid applying moisturizer to the upper eyelid\u2014otherwise, your eye makeup may crease quickly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"929\">You don\u2019t need a separate eye cream; a good facial moisturizer works just as well. But if you\u2019re looking for one, here are my current favorites:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"1026\">\n<li data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"957\">\n<p data-start=\"932\" data-end=\"957\">Rejuvi Eye Repair Cream<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"1003\">\n<p data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1003\">i+m Age Protect Avocado &amp; Argan Eye Cream<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1026\">\n<p data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1026\">ECOOKING Eye Cream<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1031\">\n<h3 data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1067\">Trick for Concealer Creasing<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1140\">The trick is simple: apply an eyeshadow primer before your concealer.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1145\">\n<h3 data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1169\">Color Correction<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1337\">To cover under-eye circles effectively, it\u2019s best to neutralize discoloration first. For more info, check out this blog post: <em data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1335\">The (Vegan) Art of Color Correction.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1339\" data-end=\"1628\">Colors most useful for under-eye circles are orange, peach\/salmon, and yellow. These neutralize blue, blue-green, and purple tones. For brown discoloration, use pink or red depending on the skin tone. If the brown has a cool undertone, adding warmth or using a warmer concealer can help.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1773\">Apply color corrector <strong data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1673\">only where needed<\/strong>. Otherwise, you\u2019re coloring the skin unnecessarily and will have to cover it again. Less is more!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1855\">Use a small amount on a brush or finger and gently tap onto the discoloration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1924\">My favorite correctors (the concealers themselves are also good):<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"2079\">\n<li data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"1976\">\n<p data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"1976\">Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1977\" data-end=\"2024\">\n<p data-start=\"1979\" data-end=\"2024\">Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star Concealer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2079\">\n<p data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2079\">L.A. Girl Pro.Conceal HD High Definition Concealer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2084\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2132\">Applying Concealer for Under-Eye Circles<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2290\">Now for the star: the concealer. Use as little product as possible. Work in thin layers until you reach the desired coverage\u2014you need less than you think!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2292\" data-end=\"2340\">I usually place the concealer in three points:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2428\">\n<li data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2369\">\n<p data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2369\">Inner corner of the eye<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2370\" data-end=\"2399\">\n<p data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2399\">Just under the inner eye<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2400\" data-end=\"2428\">\n<p data-start=\"2403\" data-end=\"2428\">Outer corner of the eye<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2659\">Then, with a brush, sponge, or finger, gently blend the concealer into the skin and outward. Blend the outer corner upwards to create a subtle cat-eye effect, visually lifting the eye. Repeat until you\u2019re happy with the result.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2661\" data-end=\"2683\">Favorite concealers:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2684\" data-end=\"2919\">\n<li data-start=\"2684\" data-end=\"2708\">\n<p data-start=\"2686\" data-end=\"2708\">M\u00c1DARA The Concealer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2709\" data-end=\"2780\">\n<p data-start=\"2711\" data-end=\"2780\">Danessa Myricks Beauty Vision Cream Cover Perfecting &amp; Shaping Wand<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2781\" data-end=\"2804\">\n<p data-start=\"2783\" data-end=\"2804\">MILK Flex Concealer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2919\">\n<p data-start=\"2807\" data-end=\"2919\">Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer (very high coverage but quite drying, not ideal for dry skin)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2921\" data-end=\"2924\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2926\" data-end=\"2953\">Setting the Concealer<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2955\" data-end=\"3127\">To prevent creasing, it\u2019s important to set the concealer with powder. You can use a tinted powder if you need extra coverage, but I usually stick to a translucent powder.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3129\" data-end=\"3312\">I lightly powder the under-eye area, finish the rest of the makeup, and check if it needs touch-ups. If the concealer has shifted, gently tap it back in and set lightly with powder.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3314\" data-end=\"3423\"><strong data-start=\"3314\" data-end=\"3329\">Do not bake<\/strong> unless you\u2019re going on stage or taking Instagram photos\u2014the finish usually looks unnatural.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3425\" data-end=\"3459\">My favorite translucent powders:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3460\" data-end=\"3563\">\n<li data-start=\"3460\" data-end=\"3484\">\n<p data-start=\"3462\" data-end=\"3484\">RCMA No-Color Powder<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3485\" data-end=\"3563\">\n<p data-start=\"3487\" data-end=\"3563\">For a bit more brightening, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is beautiful<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"3565\" data-end=\"3568\">\n<p data-start=\"3570\" data-end=\"3703\">That\u2019s it!
